Ambitious new Drinkaware strategy seeks big reduction in higher risk drinkers

Drinkaware, the leading UK charity for tackling alcohol-related harm, has launched a five-year strategy with a target of a two million reduction in ‘risky drinkers’ in the UK by 2030.

Alcohol-related deaths in the UK hit a record high in 2022, with nearly 2,500 more fatalities compared to 2019, according to official figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
